🎧 Downbeat.fm Vol. 3 Track 8
Music is powerful.
Foxing is a band I’ve seen twice before and only discovered because a friend on Twitter kept going on and on about how good their 2018 album Nearer My God was. I checked it out and loved it. As luck would have it, they’d be in Austin in a few weeks, so I got tickets. And I got tickets again when in 2019.
They released a new album in 2021, and I liked it, but not as much as Nearer My God. However, when they announced tour dates in support of that album, I wasn’t not going to see them.
A few months before the show, a band was added to the bill - Home Is Where.
Home is Where is yet another band I discovered from that same Twitter friend.
I started this newsletter and playlist to share my discovery of new bands with friends. When you find an awesome song, you don’t want to keep it to yourself. You want to share it with as many people as possible, hoping they, too, will fall in love with it.
Music is powerful.
